This coming Sunday (28 September) Ben will be swapping his race suit for a pair of shorts as he runs for Cancer Research UK in the Bury ST Edmunds 10k event.

Having completed 3 London Marathons and numerous half marathons and 10K events over the past 7 years Ben is looking forward to pulling on his Asics and raising some money for a good cause.

"It has been over a year since I ran in a race as I have been concentrating more on the motor racing this season, but I love my running and with this event being in aid of a charity which is close to my heart it will be even more satisfying. So many of us are effected in some way by cancer these days that I hope to raise plenty of awareness and money for the cause. I haven't put in any specific training for the event as I run 4/5 days a week anyway as part of my normal training regime but I am hoping I can get close to the 40minute mark at the finish."

The race takes place at Ickworth House near Ben's home town of Bury St Edmunds at 11am on Sunday.

Ben will be back in action on track again in 3 weeks time (12 October) at Donington Park for the final round of the 2008 Avon Tyres British GT Championship where he and team mate Guy Harrington will be hoping to end the season with that so far elusive first podium of the season.
